My First Post!
00:01:00Cannot believe I am finally writing this! I have spent months debating whether or not to start a blog, I am a perfectionist and hated the idea of starting something I knew nothing about. I spent a few months trying to figure out the best platform for a blog for example word press or blogger. I even got in contact with some of my favorite bloggers just to seek some advice. Based on there replies I went with blogger! I am just learning about css so blogger is perfect for beginners as you can kind of get away with not fully understanding it.
Honestly, I hit a bit of a wall in my life, I started college this year and even though I love my course its not enough for me, I like being kept busy and even though in my house that is not a problem, I still wanted to do something just for me, that doesn't involve any pressure (like work). I live on social media, and love reading blogs they're like personal insights into the daily lives of people, I find that so interesting. I enjoy following bloggers, watching what they are up to, they're latest projects, it inspires me to want to go after my goals. Right now I don't feel like I am reaching for anything. I discovered my love for writing just this year. I should have realized it long ago considering how much I like the sound of my own voice! Haha! That and my love for fashion, fitness and beauty I just thought why not throw my ideas up on a blog. It will give me something to focus and work on and I might even make one person feel inspired, exactly how the bloggers that I follow make me feel.
It took my ages, I mean ages, to come up with a name for my blog. I wanted something that related to me and envisioned the persona of the blog somehow. As well as a title that will relate to people who might read the blog. For example I was going to name it LTD blog, it's a nickname I sort of christened myself with. Long story short, one day I was talking to my auntie, as per usual I said something silly and she told me I was weird and I replied with 'I am not weird I am limited edition', since then around my aunt especially I am referred to as LTD, I liked the idea of that message being the foundation of my blog. Its okay to be weird/different whatever you want to call it, because more often than not all the best people are.
I just didn't think that LTD Blog, incorporated the aspect of fashion and beauty that I wanted. To me I considered it more of a subdivision name for a blog but not a solid enough title for the entire blog. It was officially back to the drawing board. I noticed at this point how clever the name of Suzanne Jackson's blog is (sosueme), so I began to experiment with everyday sayings. It wasn't until my Nana was talking to my little sister and said 'A little bird told me... I thought that this could be it!
Not may people know that when you see a robin it means that someone is watching down on you. That idea that there is always someone looking out for you, that they're is always a positive force around you is the prime idea I want to illustrate in my blog. When people read a post I have written I want them to get something from it and feel good. I think people my age (19), waste their time focusing on all the negatives, everything that is not going right for them, rather than what they actually do have. Some people do not realize how lucky they are! On my eighteenth birthday I got a tattoo of a robin, mainly because of my name but also because of what they signify. This notion of constantly staying motivated, inspired and positive is very important to me. I hope through my blog I can help others feel like this.
Fly high,
Robyn :)
